1. Scope of work
Every engagement starts with a written proposal that spells out what we're building, the timeline, and the price. We don't start work until both sides have signed off. Out-of-scope changes are documented and estimated before they begin.
2. Payment
Most projects are billed 50% on kickoff and 50% on delivery. Invoices are due within 14 days. We don't charge late fees on the first overdue invoice, but we do pause work until payment clears.
3. Ownership
You own everything we build for you — source code, design files, content, everything — once the final invoice is paid. Before that, it's shared working material. We reserve the right to reference the work in our own portfolio unless you ask us not to.
4. Warranty & support
Every project includes 30 days of post-launch bug fixes at no extra cost. After that, we offer retainer plans for ongoing work. Feature requests outside the original scope are billed separately.
5. Termination
Either side can terminate with 7 days' written notice. If we terminate for non-payment, the last delivered milestone is yours to keep. If you terminate for any reason, we invoice for work completed to date.
6. Liability
Our total liability on any engagement is capped at the total fees paid for that engagement. We're not liable for lost profits, lost data, or consequential damages arising from use of the delivered work.
This page is a plain-language summary. The binding version of the terms is the statement of work signed with your specific engagement. Email legal@gelabs.dev with any questions.
